-- Mother - Singer - Songwriter - Artist - Philanthropist -- Molly Johnson has earned a reputation as one of Canada’s greatest voices, seducing listeners with her luscious interpretations of jazz and blues standards. Throughout her illustrious career, Molly has garnered a Juno Award for Best Vocal Jazz Album and also holds a National Jazz Award for Best Female Vocalist. Molly has performed a private concert aboard the Royal Yacht Britannia before the Prince and late Princess of Wales, as well as having performed for Nelson Mandela and Quincy Jones. Other performance highlights include the Toronto Jazz Festival Mainstage with The Count Basie Orchestra. Also highly regarded in her work as a philanthropist, Molly started the Kumbaya Foundation and Festival, raising awareness and over one million dollars for people living with HIV/AIDS. In 2008, the Governor General of Canada honored Molly with an appointment to become an Officer of The Order of Canada. On the weekend, you can hear Molly on CBC Radio 2’s Radio 2 Morning from 6-9AM. In the fall, Molly will be releasing a Greatest Hits Package with 3 new songs for A440 Entertainment/Universal Music Canada. |
